Baseball Game Preview: Dougherty Trojans vs. Cairo Syrupmakers

Dougherty is 1-9 against Cairo since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Dougherty Trojans will venture away from home to square off against the Cairo Syrupmakers at 5:30 p.m.

Dougherty managed to slip by Cairo the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Dougherty came up short against Cairo on Monday, falling 16-3. The contest marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Dougherty saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joshua Weaver, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Weaver is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season.

Cairo's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Dougherty, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
