Basketball Recap: Golden Valley Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Golden Valley faced off against Los Banos on Thursday. The Golden Valley Cougars took a 54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Los Banos Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 891st, while the Tigers are ranked 340th).

Golden Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 15 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season. As for Los Banos, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 16-8.

Golden Valley will challenge El Capitan at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in El Capitan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches. As for Los Banos, they will take on Buhach Colony at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Los Banos is facing Buhach Colony at the right time seeing as Buhach Colony is stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
