Preview: Summerville Bears vs. Calaveras Red Hawks
Summerville is 2-8 against Calaveras since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Summerville Bears will look to defend their home court against the Calaveras Red Hawks at 7:15 p.m. Summerville is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Summerville ended up a good deal behind Argonaut and lost 51-33.
Meanwhile, Calaveras slipped by Bret Harte 40-39 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Calaveras.
Calaveras can attribute much of their success to Emma Clark, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and five steals, and Izzy Tapia, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and three blocks. Clark has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.
Summerville has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Calaveras, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5.
Things could have been worse for Summerville, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-36 loss to Calaveras in their previous matchup on January 4th.
