Basketball Recap: Arrowhead Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Kawino Rice and Izzy Villanueva

Arrowhead Christian has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 45-31 bruising from the Loma Linda Academy Roadrunners on Tuesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 40-18 back in November of 2024.

Arrowhead Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Izzy Villanueva and Kawino Rice. Villanueva went 8 for 13 en route to 16 points and five steals, while Rice posted eight points in addition to seven boards and three steals. That's the most points Villanueva has posted since back in November of 2023.

Arrowhead Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Loma Linda Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

Arrowhead Christian will challenge Linfield Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Loma Linda Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-40 victory against Portland Adventist Academy on the 23rd.
