Basketball Recap: Pitman Takes a Loss

Pitman played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 61-23 loss at the hands of the Gregori Jaguars. The game marked the Pride's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Pitman still got an impressive performance from Miley Zamora, who posted six points.

Even though they lost, Pitman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive matches.

Veronica Whitten had an outrageously good game for Gregori as she dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals. The dominant performance gave Whitten a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Morris, who scored eight points.

Pitman's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Gregori, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pitman will challenge Downey at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gregori, they will face off against Turlock at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gregori is facing Turlock at the right time seeing as Turlock is stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
