Football Recap: Teaghen Tolbers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Albert Lea over St. Peter

Albert Lea lost against St. Peter back in August of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tigers fell 26-21 to the Saints. While the Tigers had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Saints 7-0.

Albert Lea lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Teaghen Tolbers, who rushed for 36 yards and one TD, and also threw for 88 yards and one touchdown.

Albert Lea's loss dropped their record down to 5-1. As for St. Peter, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Albert Lea will square off against rival Waseca at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Tigers 13.7, the Bluejays 7.5) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, St. Peter is set to face off against their familiar foe New Ulm at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
