Basketball Recap: Crawford Comes Up Short

Crawford lost against San Diego back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The match between the Crawford Colts and the San Diego Cavers didn't end well, with the Crawford Colts falling 56-41. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Crawford lost, don't look at Fatuma Abdi. Despite the final result, she posted 19 points and four steals. The contest was Abdi's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aisha Hassan, who scored ten points and three steals.

San Diego's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gianna Woodson, who went 10 for 20 on her way to 22 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Woodson a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Nitzel, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.

Crawford now has a losing record at 11-12. As for San Diego, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-12.

Crawford has already played their next game, a 61-18 loss against Christian on the 31st. As for San Diego, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-47 defeat against La Jolla on the 31st.
