Basketball Recap: Enochs Takes a Loss

Enochs lost against Gregori back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Enochs Eagles were dealt a 65-37 loss at the hands of the Gregori Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 678th, while the Jaguars are ranked 331st).

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alivia Pierce, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds Pierce has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenadee Paxton, who had five points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gregori to victory, but perhaps none more so than Veronica Whitten, who dropped a triple-double with 15 points, 13 boards, and ten steals. Whitten has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alanah Lopez, who scored 18 points and four steals.

Enochs now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Gregori, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-9.

Enochs has already played their next contest (against Downey), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Gregori also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Pitman.
