Baseball Game Preview: Howard Huskies vs. Hephzibah Rebels

The Howard Huskies will take on the Hephzibah Rebels at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Howard has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 21.

Howard lost 15-5 to Hephzibah on Tuesday.

For Hephzibah's part, Fredrich Frye made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Frye posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Hephzibah's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-9 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Hephzibah got a massive performance out of Trenton Dunn, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Hephzibah is 3-1 when Dunn posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendrick Ivey, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

The victory made it two in a row for Hephzibah and bumps their season record up to 6-9. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14 runs. As for Howard, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.
