Basketball Recap: Vacaville Comes Up Short

Vacaville played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 68-43 to the Rodriguez Mustangs. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Vacaville saw an underclassman step up: freshman Gianna L?pez posted 14 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points L?pez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jania Jackson, who earned eight points and eight boards.

Vacaville has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Rodriguez, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-7 record.

Vacaville has already played their next contest (against Pioneer), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Rodriguez will square off against Wood at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rodriguez is facing Wood at the right time seeing as Wood is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
