Baseball Recap: Hampton Takes a Loss

Hampton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Stockbridge Tigers. That's two games in a row now that the Hornets have lost by just one run.

Cole Moody and Corbin Allen stepped up to the plate in a big way. Moody scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Allen scored two runs and stole three bases.

Hampton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Stockbridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampton will challenge The Grace Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Stockbridge, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Locust Grove at 5:55 p.m. on the 14th.
