Basketball Recap: Slippery Rock's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Slippery Rock waltzed into their match on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took down the Sharon Tigers 65-49. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 67-34 back in January.

Slippery Rock's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cj Sabo, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards. Those 12 rebounds gave Sabo a new career-high. Madison Romanovich was another key player, going 8 of 18 on her way to 20 points in addition to seven steals and six assists.

Slippery Rock was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Slippery Rock has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Sharon, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Hickory the next time they take the court. Slippery Rock will host Hickory at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Sharon will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
