Baseball Recap: Bacon County Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Bacon County's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Charlton County on Friday. The Bacon County Raiders came out on top against the Pierce County Bears by a score of 3-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Raiders also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2018.

Bacon County pushed their record up to 2-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs over those games. As for Pierce County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bacon County will square off against Vidalia at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Bacon County's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Vidalia's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Pierce County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Wayne County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
