Softball Recap: Windsor Academy Beats Flint River Academy for Their Fourth Straight Win

Windsor Academy entered their tilt with Flint River Academy on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 12-8. 12 seems to be a good number for the Knights as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Abagail 'Abby' Price made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Madelyn 'Maddie' Price was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Taylor Black was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs.

Windsor Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Flint River Academy struck out eight times.

Windsor Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Flint River Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Windsor Academy will square off against Central Fellowship Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Flint River Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Heritage at 5:00 p.m. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.36 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
