Basketball Recap: Mountain View Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Mountain View had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took down the Canton Warriors 50-32 on Friday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Warriors are ranked 355th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Canton's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexis McRoberts, who posted four points in addition to 17 boards and three steals. With that strong performance, McRoberts is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Danah Wesneski, who scored six points along with six boards and three steals.

Mountain View pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.8 points on average over those games. As for Canton, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-10.

Mountain View has already played their next matchup (against Renaissance Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Canton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
