Softball Recap: Poplar Bluff Has No Trouble Against East Carter

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Poplar Bluff). They put the hurt on the East Carter Redbirds with a sharp 19-3 win on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Molly Eason was excellent, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lillie Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Poplar Bluff always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .677. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Poplar Bluff's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for East Carter, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Poplar Bluff has already played their next contest (against Sikeston), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for East Carter, they will take on Jefferson at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
