Albany turns things around after tough road loss

Recap: Albany Cougars vs. Vallejo Redhawks
There's no place like home for the Albany Cougars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Saturday. They snuck past Vallejo with a 44-40 victory on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Albany, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Veekie Head and Jazmine Cardwell certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Head dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds, while Cardwell dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds. Cardwell scored a full 32.5% of Vallejo's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The win got Albany back to even at 4-4. As for Vallejo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Albany will face off against St. Joseph Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vallejo, they will head out on the road to face off against Hercules at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
