Baseball Recap: Hackensack Comes Up Short

Hackensack had lost six straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped down to 11-15-1 to make it seven. They came up short against the Paramus Catholic Knght Paladins, falling 14-4. The Comets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knght Paladins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Jason Bocio was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

As for Paramus Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-10. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Paramus Catholic's side, Max Rozenblatt tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Rozenblatt has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Paramus Catholic got a massive performance out of Raniel Medrano, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Medrano has posted since back in April. Giovanni Latino was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hackensack will take on Teaneck at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Paramus Catholic, they will face off against Dwight Morrow at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
