Basketball Recap: Nikole Vinokurov Key Part of Team Effort in Knights Win + How To Watch

Futures won the last time they faced Florin and things went their way on Friday too. The Knights snuck past the Panthers with a 40-34 victory.

Futures got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nikole Vinokurov out in front who went 8-for-10 to rack up 18 points and three steals. Those 18 points gave Vinokurov a new career-high. Jaida Brown was another key player, putting up seven points and 13 boards.

Futures smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Florin's loss came despite strong showings from Emily Yin and Keylee Najera. Yin posted six points along with 13 rebounds and seven assists, while Najera put up seven points and five steals.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-8. As for Florin, they dropped their record down to 4-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Futures and Yuba City will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Florin will take on Burbank in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
