Soccer Game Preview: Saratoga vs. MacDonald

The Saratoga Falcons will take on the MacDonald Condor at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Saratoga's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while MacDonald has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

If MacDonald heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Saratoga took over last week. Saratoga beat Lynbrook by a goal, winning 3-2. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 346th, while the Vikings are ranked 833rd), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, MacDonald came up short against Cupertino on Tuesday, falling 5-1.

Saratoga is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those nine contests. As for MacDonald, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11-3.
