Basketball Recap: Alisal Skates Past Leland with Ease

Alisal had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Leland Chargers, posting a 68-30 win. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Chargers on Thursday, too.

Alisal was led to victory by Lucy Peinado and Nayeli Gil-Silva. Peinado posted 18 points and six steals, while Gil-Silva earned 11 points in addition to six assists and four steals. Those six steals gave Peinado a new career-high. Mia Rivera was another key player, putting up eight points.

Leland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.

Coming up, Alisal won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Foothill at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Leland, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Willow Glen at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
