Basketball Game Preview: Adelanto Saints vs. Silverado Hawks

Adelanto hasn't had much luck against Silverado recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Adelanto Saints will challenge the Silverado Hawks at 5:30 p.m. Adelanto will be strutting in after a victory while Silverado will be coming in after a loss.

Adelanto took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Granite Hills, sneaking past 44-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Saints have posted since December 28, 2023.

Nyomi Sanchez and Keira Vindeo were among the main playmakers for Adelanto as the former dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards and the latter posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks. With that strong performance, Sanchez is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Silverado's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a blow against Hesperia, falling 80-38. The Hawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.

Silverado's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Adelanto, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.

Adelanto and Silverado were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup two weeks ago, but Adelanto came up empty-handed after a 46-45 loss. Can Adelanto avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
