Basketball Recap: State College Comes Up Short

State College was the 43-40 winner over Altoona when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The State College Little Lions took a blow against the Altoona Mountain Lions on Tuesday, falling 66-37. The match marked the Little Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

State College's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3. As for Altoona, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

State College and Altoona should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. State College (ranked 32nd) will meet Harrisburg (ranked 549th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Altoona will face off against Williamsport at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday up 361 places (30 vs. 391).
