Basketball Recap: New Foundations Comes Up Short

New Foundations had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-8 to make it four. They were dealt a 53-7 defeat at the hands of the MAST Community Charter Panthers. New Foundations was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-2.

As for MAST Community Charter, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points over those games.

Leading MAST Community Charter to victory were Tierney Hamilton and Cyaz Pitt. Hamilton shot 54% from the field to rack up 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists, while Pitt almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. Hamilton is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Lyla Santulli was another key player, putting up three points along with six boards and three steals.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Foundations will face off against The City School at 4:10 p.m. on Monday. As for MAST Community Charter, they will square off against Calvary Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
