Softball Recap: Algona Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

Algona had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They never let Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS get on the board and left with a 14-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Algona pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.

Algona has already played their next match (against Spencer), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Humboldt.
