Preview: Boyertown Bears vs. Perkiomen Valley Vikings
Boyertown has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Perkiomen Valley Vikings at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Boyertown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
Last Friday, Boyertown was the victim of a rough 49-26 defeat at the hands of Owen J. Roberts. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Boyertown in their matchups with Owen J. Roberts: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite their defeat, Boyertown saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nicole Shimukonas, who scored five points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shimukonas has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Perkiomen Valley put another one in the bag on Sunday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Sanford by a score of 39-30. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Perkiomen Valley has scored all season.
Boyertown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Perkiomen Valley, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
Boyertown was dealt a bruising 72-35 defeat at the hands of Perkiomen Valley in their previous matchup back in January. Can Boyertown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
