Recap: High School of the Future vs. Roxborough Wolves
High School of the Future fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Roxborough Wolves on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 46-44. High School of the Future has not had much luck with Roxborough recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
High School of the Future lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Makiyah Waters, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Waters has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahanna Mitchell, who scored 12 points.
Leading Roxborough to victory were Jaylah Holmes and Siaharr Simmons. Holmes dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Simmons dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Holmes has scored at least 25% of Roxborough's points. Another player making a difference was JennyLee Perez, who scored eight points.
High School of the Future now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Roxborough, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
High School of the Future will head out on the road to face off against Philadelphia Electric Charter at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Philadelphia Electric Charter is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Roxborough will be home for the holidays to greet Paul Robeson at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Paul Robeson will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
