Edcouch-Elsa posted their closest win since March 28, 2025 on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Vela Sabercats, sneaking past 3-1. For the Yellowjackets, this counts as revenge for the 5-1 victory the Sabercats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2016.

Edcouch-Elsa has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs this season. As for Vela, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edcouch-Elsa will challenge Raymondville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Vela, they will square off against Veterans Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
