Softball Game Preview: Discovery Titans vs. Central Gwinnett Black Knights

The Discovery Titans will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Central Gwinnett Black Knights at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Discovery is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They came up short against Chestatee on Monday, falling 15-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the War Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.

Cedar Shoals hit Central Gwinnett with a seven-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Black Knights took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars. On the bright side, the eight- run performance marked the Black Knights' highest-scoring game to date.

Discovery suffered a grim 20-8 defeat to Central Gwinnett in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
