Football Recap: Tularosa Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Tularosa's offense. They were beaten by the Texico Wolverines 53-0 on Friday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Wolverines recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

It was another big night for Cross Figg, who picked up 116 receiving yards and three scores, and also rushed for 57 yards and three touchdowns for Texico. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 66 yards. Another passer making a difference was Bennett Wahlen, who threw for 156 yards and four TDs on only six passes.

Tularosa's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Texico, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3.

As of now, neither Tularosa nor the Wolverines have any future games scheduled.
