If Golden Valley wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Merced, they should've done a better job of containing Averie Steverson. The Merced Bears enjoyed a cozy 46-29 victory over the Golden Valley Cougars on Thursday thanks to Steverson, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2 blocks per game.
The team also got some help courtesy of Makiiyah Sims, who posted three points and seven boards. What's more, she also posted two steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024.
