Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Centura

Centura had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Highway 6 Trailblazers by a score of 5-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Centurions also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Calleigh Sundberg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Centura let Emma Whitefoot and Lauren Suntych run wild. Whitefoot went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI, while Suntych went 1-for-4 with one home run. Emma Jacobs was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Centura's record now sits at 17-7. As for Highway 6, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-10.

Centura does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Highway 6, they will take on North Platte at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trailblazers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
