It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Milton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Pope Greyhounds 7-6. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Annabel Scott spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on 11 hits.

On the hitting side, Elizabeth Wilkes was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September of 2024. Reese Rountree was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Milton's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Pope, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milton will welcome North Gwinnett at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed one run per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Pope, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodstock at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
