Soccer Game Preview: Highland vs. Frontier

The Highland Scots will square off against the Frontier Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Highland is headed into the contest having not lost since the second and will look to keep things rolling. Their defense stepped up to hand Independence a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. Given the Scots' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Falcons are ranked 480th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Highland's one-goal win came courtesy of Stephanie Cobos, who's now up to 18 this season.

Meanwhile, Frontier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 5-0 to Garces Memorial. That's two games in a row now that the Titans have lost by exactly five goals.

Frontier's loss dropped their record down to 8-7-2. As for Highland, their victory bumped their record up to 18-1-2.

Highland beat Frontier by a goal when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 1-0. Does Highland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Frontier turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
