Baseball Recap: Walker Victorious

Walker won the last time they faced Mount Pisgah Christian and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wolverines' pitchers stepped up to hand the Patriots a 15-0 shutout. Considering the Wolverines have won three matchups by more than 14 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jensen Kown looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Walker is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on James Whittingham, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Kyle Hand, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Walker kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Walker now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Mount Pisgah Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walker will head out to face off against Kennesaw Mountain at 5:55 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount Pisgah Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Landmark Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
