Softball Recap: Seneca Comes Up Short

Seneca came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Monett Cubs, falling 7-1. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Cubs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Kordy Hancock was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Seneca's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Monett, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-7.

Coming up, Seneca will square off against McDonald County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monett, they will face off against Aurora at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
