Basketball Recap: Roxborough Falls Despite Big Games from Siaharr Simmons and Kierstyn Spearman

If Roxborough was feeling good fresh off their 48-18 takedown of Olney on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolves lost 48-27 to Little Flower Catholic for Girls on Friday. The loss put an end to the Wolves' undefeated start to the season.

Roxborough's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kierstyn Spearman, who posted nine points, and Siaharr Simmons, who had eight points and 11 rebounds. Simmons is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season. Eva Smoot was another key player, putting up two points and ten boards.

Roxborough's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Little Flower Catholic for Girls, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Roxborough will host Belmont Charter at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Little Flower Catholic for Girls, they will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge New Foundations at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
