Basketball Recap: Merion Mercy Academy Takes a Loss

Merion Mercy Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 48-27 to Germantown Friends. While losing is never fun, the Golden Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while Germantown Friends are ranked 98th).

Merion Mercy Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Germantown Friends, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 13-1.

Merion Mercy Academy will face off against Mt. St. Joseph Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Germantown Friends, they and Mastery Charter North - Pickett will face off at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Germantown Friends' defense has only allowed 27.1 points per game this season, so Mastery Charter North - Pickett's offense will have their work cut out for them.
