Volleyball Recap: Cactus Comes Up Short

Cactus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Centennial Coyotes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cobras of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-21.

Trevor Vander Linden paced Cactus' offense, picking up six kills. Vander Linden got some help from Cervando Zayas and his ten assists.

Cactus' defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Centennial, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Cactus didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Goldwater on the 3rd. As for Centennial, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Liberty on the 3rd.
