Baseball Recap: Nease Gets the Win

Nease was handed a 13-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the University Christian Christians 4-3. For the Golden Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 4-2 win the Christians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2018.

Caeden Dye tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Braylon Morgan, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Nease's record now sits at 9-12. As for University Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nease will face off against Beachside at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Barracudas will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Golden Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for University Christian, they will challenge Sandalwood at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mighty Saints' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Christians' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
