Ord extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 5-15. They came up short against the O'Neill Eagles, falling 10-2. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent loss being a 11-0 defeat last Saturday.
Elle Jess was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
As for O'Neill, they now have a winning record of 10-9. Considering they have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
On O'Neill's side, Rylee Selby made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Selby was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, O'Neill let Bristol Scott and Aubrey Blackburn run wild. Scott went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one double, while Blackburn went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits Blackburn has posted since back in August of 2024. Another player making a difference was Grace Drueke, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Ord wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 17-3 defeat against Central City on the 20th. As for O'Neill, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-3 loss against Ponca on the 20th.
