Baseball Recap: General Brown Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

General Brown barely beat Sandy Creek the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions blew past the Comets 11-1 on Saturday. The victory was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Jackson Keefer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of General Brown's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 4-6 when he doesn't). Keefer was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Kael Hoselton was excellent, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Brady Black, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

General Brown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

The win got General Brown back to even at 7-7. As for Sandy Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.
