Coffee and Brantley County are an even 5-5 against one another since August of 2018, but likely not for long. The Trojans will host the Herons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Coffee fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Lanier County on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 5-3.

Maggie Brown spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on seven hits and racked up 17 Ks.

On the hitting side, Allie Pridgen and Ella Edge stepped up to the plate in a big way. Pridgen went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Edge went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Kanlee Douglas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Brantley County's offense. They fell 3-0 to Emanuel County Institute on Saturday. The Herons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Coffee's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Brantley County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2-1.

Coffee beat Brantley County 4-0 in their previous meeting back in September of 2023. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Herons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
