Softball Recap: Hiram Hornets vs. Mt. Zion Eagles
Thursday just wasn't the day for Hiram's offense. They lost 8-0 to the Mt. Zion Eagles on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-3 back in September.
Hiram saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Martinez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. That triple was Martinez's first of the season.
Hiram has been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 19 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season. As for Mt. Zion, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-9.
As of now, neither Hiram nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
