South Gate has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Granada Hills Charter Highlanders at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, South Gate rose to the challenge on Thursday. They never let the Hunters onto the board and left with a 2-0 win.
South Gate was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Scarlett Gutierrez and
Melody Arevalo, who scored both of South Gate's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 49 so far this season.
Meanwhile, Granada Hills Charter has not lost a match since December 1, 2023, a trend which continued in their latest game last Friday. They skirted past Birmingham 1-0. That's two games straight that Granada Hills Charter has won by exactly one goal.
South Gate has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6-2 record this season. As for Granada Hills Charter, their win bumped their record up to 11-2-3.
