Basketball Recap: Millville Falls Short of Greenwood in the Playoffs

Millville and Greenwood squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Millville had to settle for second. They took a 43-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenwood Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Quakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 425th, while the Wildcats are ranked 212th).

Larissa Evans and Ayla Boyunegmez certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Evans posted 11 points in addition to seven boards and six assists, while Boyunegmez had seven points and six rebounds. Evans has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 49 times she's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Millville and nudges their season record down to 15-10. As for Greenwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Millville nor Greenwood have any future games scheduled.
