After a string of five wins, Spectrum's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 25-20 to the Pine River-Backus Tigers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Sting came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Tigers are ranked 249th).

Spectrum's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Pine River-Backus, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-5 record.

Looking ahead, Spectrum will challenge Foley on the 25th. As for Pine River-Backus, they have already played their next matchup, a 30-6 defeat against Otter Tail Central co-op [Battle Lake/Henning] on the 21st.
