Recap: Ponderosa Bruins vs. Union Mine Diamondbacks
The Ponderosa Bruins waltzed into their matchup Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Union Mine by a score of 59-52. That's another feather in the cap for Ponderosa, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Union Mine lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kyra Wooden, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. Jennifer Wylie was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Ponderosa has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Union Mine, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Placer the next time they take the court. Union Mine will host Placer at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Ponderosa will host them at 2:30 p.m. on January 10, 2024.
