Soccer Game Preview: Riverwood vs. Woodstock

The Riverwood Raiders are taking a road trip to take on the Woodstock Wolverines at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Riverwood has five straight victories, Woodstock has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Riverwood is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They came out on top against Creekview by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 324th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Woodstock managed to keep up with River Ridge until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Woodstock came up short against River Ridge, falling 4-0. That's two games in a row now that the Wolverines have lost by exactly four goals.

Woodstock's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Riverwood, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4.
