Baseball Game Preview: Hamilton Big Blue vs. Elder Panthers

The Hamilton Big Blue will head out on the road to square off against the Elder Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Hamilton fell victim to Badin and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 6-0 to the Rams. The Big Blue haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Hamilton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Moak, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Elder got the win against Archbishop McNicholas on Saturday by a conclusive 9-1. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won five in a row.

Caleb McComas led a balanced Panthers bullpen and tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. McComas has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jared Lammers was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Roger Waddell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Elder was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Archbishop McNicholas only posted a batting average of .231.

Elder's record now sits at 16-11. As for Hamilton, their loss dropped their record down to 10-15.
